Welcome to the league

This will be the 2nd official season for the NFFL, a league short on history but rich in tradition. Last season we saw what dedication and the waiver wire can do with Danny winning the Golden Delly.
We witnessed what happens to a team that drafts a defense in the 5th round (you go 0-13 and never show your face again). We watched as the roots of a great rivalry were firmly planted between Danny and Jamison with a hatred that continues to grow. We fell victim to the promise of greatness from Scott and Pang only to see them in playoff disappointment. And we were of course graced by Gregg’s unending gamesmanship. Lucky, for all of us Greg got his ass beat in the Championship.

This seasons brings us new excitement as we welcome new ownership in Chris Hunt and Paul Renwick.  Both of them bring a wealth of knowledge and a competitive thirst that cannot be quenched. Good luck boys, you will need it.

We do have a couple of new business items to discuss, be on the lookout for your official league invitation. We will continue to use the ESPN FF site. There have been some scoring and lineup changes so make sure to review the league scoring settings, or don’t and be happy with not making the playoffs. The four major changes are: 1) decimal based scoring per yard gained; 2) 6 pts for QB td passes; 3) added flex position; and 4) no more playoff home field advantage. We also will only have one division this year instead of two like last year.

We also need to determine a draft date, my proposal is as follows: Tuesday, September 8, at 7:30 pm (pst). We will have at least 2 out of state owners this year so we will most likely do a live draft (meaning everyone will need a computer.) I am however looking at options to still have the draft offline, but still have the board available for the out-of-staters. The draft this year will be held at my house: 5716 Shadow Bend Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89135. (If the date does not work, speak up now so we can schedule as needed.) The buy-in this year is $30. You can pay through Paypal (jdurruti@byulaw.net), Venmo (James Urrutia), Bitcoin (1434DdtYsJfijAix9cmTXorSiLbuEqUY7E) or cash. Payments must be received before the draft.

Keep an eye out for your espn invite email (check yo spam folder just in case). If anyone has any additional rule or scoring options they would like to suggest feel free and we can decide asap if we want to implement them or not before the season starts.

Once again welcome, I look forward to another successful year
